Our day is tied out to to line that grown into the trees
The weather radio, the background noise
In the kitchen window
It's always been our last day out
At least the ones people know about
To the stairs made out of roots and rocks
It's pretty great if you can wake up soon enough
But when I get home
I don't mind to sleep in the garage
It's easier sneaking out
to go walking in the dark till we're not afraid of anything
anymore
Branches scrape against the house
The windows on the second floor
I still hear the sound muffled now
of voices just outside the door
The friends that I now hardly see
All end up here eventually
But you never seem to find them
At the same place at the same time anymore
